A vest that adapts to the cyclist and their environment
Developed for the Van Rysel brand (Decathlon) in partnership with Jonathan & Fletcher, this innovative vest embeds a smart inflatable insulation technology. It automatically adjusts its volume and insulation level depending on the temperature and the rider's effort.
The technical challenge: combine thermal comfort, lightness and safety by integrating technical textile, sensors and miniaturised inflatable systems into a flexible, washable garment.

Results & impact
The Van Rysel vest represents a major step forward in smart textiles for sport. This functional prototype validated the feasibility of an integrated inflatable system combining thermal comfort and active regulation, without compromising freedom of movement.
