Our applications produced in Europe
The AQ-Tech workshop manufactures three families of technical textile products: smart textile (connected garments, biometric sensors), inflatable systems (wearable airbags, compression) and functional textile (soft exoskeletons, connected PPE).
Our manufacturing serves demanding sectors - medical, sport, defense and industrial - where traceability and industrial sovereignty are essential to the value chain.
Frequently asked questions about technical textile manufacturing in Europe
Where can I manufacture a technical textile product in Europe with a controlled value chain?
AQ-Tech operates a textile workshop in Annecy (French Alps) that delivers in-house manufacturing of technical textile products in Europe: smart textiles, inflatable systems, functional textiles. We work with a network of European industrial partners for components and series volumes, securing a sovereign and traceable value chain.
What volumes do you produce in-house?
We produce from 10 to 500 units per batch in our Annecy workshop. This covers validation pre-series, commercial small-series and recurring low-volume production. Above 500 units, we organise the transfer to our qualified European industrial partners while securing technical and quality continuity.
What is the difference between small-series and pre-series?
A pre-series (typically 10 to 50 units) is used to validate the manufacturing process before commercial launch: repeatability, cycle times and quality compliance are tested. A small-series (50 to 500 units) is a commercial low-volume production - units are shipped to the end client. At AQ-Tech we cover both in our workshops, with the same level of traceability and control.
Can you manufacture a product you did not design?
Yes. If you provide a complete technical file (drawings, bills of materials, specifications), we can take over assembly and production. We run a manufacturability review before launch to identify any necessary adjustments.
What are your typical lead times for a pre-series?
Lead times vary with product complexity and component availability. Typically: 2 to 4 weeks for a validation pre-series (10-50 units), 4 to 8 weeks for a commercial small-series (50-500 units). We share a detailed schedule from the quotation stage onwards.
How much does small-series technical textile production cost?
Cost depends on several factors: product complexity, number of components, required assembly technologies (mechanical, electronic, textile) and ordered volume. We quote each project on request, with a per-line breakdown: components, labour, quality control. Send us your technical file and we reply within 48 hours with a detailed estimate.
Do you manufacture inflatable and HF-welded products?
Yes - inflatable textile series production is one of our specialties. We master HF welding, TPU/PA forming and the manufacturing of technical inflatable structures: wearable airbags, pneumatic compression devices, soft robotics. 20 years of wearable airbag expertise live in our workshops.
How do you handle the move to large-series production?
We prepare the industrial transfer from the pre-series stage: process documentation, manufacturing routings, standardised quality controls. When your volumes exceed our in-house capacity, we transfer to qualified European industrial partners while securing training and technical follow-up.
Do you handle quality control?
Yes. Every product is checked at several process stages: incoming components, assembly, functional tests and final inspection. All results are stored in our ERP for full traceability by batch and serial number.
Do I need a complete technical file to start?
Ideally yes - drawings, bills of materials and test specifications make launch faster. If your file is incomplete, we can support you through our engineering design house to finalise the technical documentation before production.
How do you handle confidentiality?
We systematically sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before any technical exchange. Your drawings, bills of materials and production data remain strictly confidential. We can also set up specific agreements covering intellectual property on processes developed together.
Do you integrate several technologies in a single product?
That is our specialty as a European smart textile manufacturer. Our workshop combines mechanical assembly, electronic integration and technical textile making on the same production lines. One contact, one team, no knowledge gap.
